June 2015

Dear ’72 Classmates:

I hope you all enjoyed a great Memorial Day weekend last month. Remember: Memorial Day happens annually, but our Class Reunion happens only once every five years, so you won’t want to miss it. Our 45th Class Reunion is less than two years away. Mark your calendar now:

May 25-28, 2017

Great News! I am pleased to announce that Nancy LeaMond and Gail Shearer have agreed to be our Reunion Co-Chairs. If you are interested in helping to plan our Reunion, please get in touch with Gail (gail.e.shearer@gmail.com) or Nancy (NLeamond@aarp.org).

What’s almost as fun as a Class Reunion? Answer: a Mini-Reunion. Think about organizing a mini-reunion this year for your housemates or for classmates in your geographic area. You can celebrate birthdays, retirements, or simply the joy of sharing the common bond of the Smith experience. For more information on how to organize a mini-reunion, get in touch with Mini-Reunion Chair, Thayer Longfellow Baine (thayer.baine@gmail.com).

Project (Re) Connect – Did you live in Albright, Baldwin, Chapin, Comstock, Cutter, Dawes, Gardiner, Haven, Hubbard, Franklin King, Morris, Morrow, or Parsons / Parsons Annex?  If so, Class Connector Mary Burton would be delighted to talk to you about the fun you can have as a House Connector.  For more info, see the Feature Article on Class website.

Class News – For news about your classmates, check out our Class website. Don’t forget to send your news and photos to Class Secretary Stefanie Cargill (rhpt70@cox.net). Although the Alumnae Quarterly accepts only high resolution photos, we are setting up a Gallery on the Class website and will be able to post most photos there.

Your Contribution Counts – Thank you to all of you who have already made your FY15 contribution. For those who have not yet done so, please consider making a contribution before June 30th at whatever level you can. Every single contribution makes a difference. An important factor for US News and World Report rankings is the percentage of alumni who support their alma mater, so every contribution counts. Click here to make your gift.

Have a wonderful summer!
